Deleting from the ipod/iphone

There should be a way to delete a song or podcast directly from the ipod/iphone instead of having to do it in the playlist on Itunes. A smartlist can delete then when you change the star rating on the ipod, but I want to be able to listen to a podcast and just press a click to delete it and not have to page through files that I wish were gone.
