Searching Inbox Messages By Date/Contact

I have some messages from a long time ago in my inbox, some of which I've had to bring up. It's a pain to have to search each page one by one to find these messages, especially when I know the approximate date it was received and who it was from. If we could search inbox by date or contact that would be sweet!
